The London and South East Burns Network team is committed to providing the highest standard of specialist burn care. You and your family can expect care that is professional, compassionate, kind and respectful at all times.

In return, we ask that patients, families and visitors treat all members of our team with the same respect and courtesy that they would expect for themselves. Our staff are healthcare professionals who deserve to work in a safe and supportive environment.

Behaviour that is abusive, aggressive or falls below these expectations will not be tolerated. Where such behaviour persists, we reserve the right to review ongoing care arrangements, which may include transferring care to another hospital to ensure the safety and wellbeing of patients, families and staff.

Charities & Support Groups

There are a number of important charities and support groups that can provide help and advice about burns and burn injuries, including:

Young People

The Hello Again website was created by our colleagues in the Northern Burn Care Network. It provides a helpful source of information for young people, their parents/carers and health professionals, to ensure that anyone making the move into adult burn care or away from care within the children’s hospital setting will find the experience as smooth as possible.

Public and Patient Voices

PPV is a core theme for the NHS. In the LSEBN, in addition to nationally recognised processes for PPV and Engagement, there are a number of patient-focused burns support groups, including hospital-based groups, the London Adult Burns Group and the Children’s Burn Club, as well as recognised charitable organisations and support groups.

We are seeking to improve the way that patients and the wider public influence and support the work we do, and welcome expressions of interest from burns survivors and their families who would be interested in sharing their perspectives and experience with us.
